Sara Gorman Rajan received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from Oakland University in 1998; her Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University Law School in 2002; her Masters’ Degree in Political Science from Wayne State University in 2004; and a Graduate Certificate in Peace and Security Studies from Wayne State University. While in law school, Ms. Rajan was an oralist on the Wayne State University National Moot Court Team.  She was selected as best overall oralist of the Wayne State University Moot Court program in 2002 and received the Best Oralist award at the University of Dayton Cybercrimes Moot Court Competition in 2001.    

 

During her law school career, Ms. Rajan interned for Judge Helene N. White of the Michigan Court of Appeals and for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office in the Child and Family Abuse Bureau with former prosecutor Nancy J. Diehl. Ms. Rajan was also selected multiple times for publication in Who’s Who in American Law Students.

 

Since joining Stark Reagan in 2003, Ms. Rajan’s primary area of practice concentrates on all aspects of domestic relations, including divorce, custody and parenting time disputes, and child and spousal support issues. Ms. Rajan is a trained domestic collaborative law attorney.  Ms. Rajan’s approach to the practice of domestic relations has resulted in her being named as a Super Lawyers’ Rising Star in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. She was also named as a Rising Star in Super Lawyers’ Publication of The Top Women Attorneys in Michigan in 2013 and 2015. Ms. Rajan also practices in the areas of civil litigation, business law, and bankruptcy. 

 

In 2009, Ms. Rajan was honored by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as an Up & Coming Lawyer.    She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and participates in the Family Law and the Commercial Litigation sections of the State Bar, the Oakland County Bar Association, the Macomb County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and is admitted to practice in all of the Michigan State Courts, as well as the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern and Western District of Michigan.  Ms. Rajan is also a fellow of the Oakland County Bar Foundation.
